HFBE was formed in September 1991 by four principals, three of whom were working together in Houston for a national securities firm. The fourth was an officer with a San Antonio money management firm. Our goal is to do business wherever it takes us but to retain the firm's traditional, regional flavor.

In September 1999, HFBE formed the broker/dealer affiliate HFBE Capital, LP to institutionalize our commitment to our investment banking services.
